Dr. Zsófia Lázár is working as a respiratory specialist at the Department of Pulmonology, Semmelweis University. Dr. Lázár’s clinical interest focuses on providing complex treatment for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and bronchial asthma, and she has been actively involved in counseling patients with pulmonary hypertension and lung transplant. Her research activities aim to better understand the pathomechanism of COPD, to identify important clinical disease phenotypes in order to introduce novel therapeutic interventions and develop personalized therapy. Besides teaming up with colleagues at the department, Dr. Lázár is also regularly recruiting and mentoring graduate students in her research projects. Dr. Lázár holds international board certification in respiratory medicine issued by the European Respiratory Society.
